As part of the global rollout, Voxware will collaborate with IBM to optimize WWRD’s newly redesigned supply chain operations.
LONDON – September, 2013 – Voxware, a leading provider of voice solutions, announced today that WWRD, parent company to Wedgwood, Waterford, Royal Doulton and Royal Albert, has selected Voxware’s VMS voice solution to handle picking, replenishment and put away as part of their global fulfillment operations. Voxware is collaborating with IBM on this deployment, which will be implemented in WWRDís UK, Australia and US locations. By combining Voxware’s superior voice software with IBM’s proven solution, WWRD is positioned to enhance their internal operations and the outcomes that drive brand loyalty among its customers.
WWRD estimates that Voxware’s voice solution will increase productivity by 15 percent, decrease training requirements, scale more effectively to handle increases in operational and staffing demands, and expand into broader market groups with a nimble software platform.
“We recognized that a voice solution would drastically improve our warehouse productivity and our ability to serve customers who know to expect nothing but the best from our brands,” said WWRD Global Logistics Director, Guy Saunders. “Voxware’s expertise in fulfillment operations and ability to deploy a configurable software solution was a key reason we selected them for this deployment. As a luxury retailer who has been in business for over 100 hundred years, we constantly strive to preserve the rich heritage of our iconic brands while implementing cutting edge technology that elevates our business. We are confident that Voxware will help us continue in that ascent as we provide our customers with exceptional products and services for hundreds of years to come.”
WWRD had a number of individual logistics models that had been consolidated along with major changes in managing its footprint, which required a redesign of their supply chain. WWRD launched SAP as their WMS in April 2013, and required a voice solution that was not hard coded and that would not disrupt its go-live date. After evaluating several voice vendors, they selected Voxware’s configurable Voice Management Suite (VMS) to optimize their workforce, business process and IT systems. WWRD had previously employed RF scanners within their fulfillment operations and realized that the solution was not robust enough to further improve its operations and deliver exemplary customer results in a multiple and single piece-pick environment.
“We are honored that a company with the reputation and heritage of WWRD has selected our voice solution to optimize its supply chain,” said Voxware President and CEO, Keith Phillips. “Our Voice Management Suite along with IBM’s reliable solution arms WWRD with the scalable infrastructure to address their immediate and long-term supply chain initiatives. Voxware is proud to work with WWRD and will provide their customers with the level of service they expect from such a renowned retailer.” Voxware is leveraging its relationship with IBM to provide a total solution which will insure WWRD achieves their defined objectives within the distribution channel.
“Our goal is to collaborate with industry leaders such as Voxware in order to provide WWRD and other organizations with the best technology and support possible,” said David Hyde, Global Technology Services, IBM. “We found that Voxware is the only voice provider that could meet WWRD’s requirements. We look forward to developing a strong global relationship with Voxware for WWRD moving forward.”
